The morning was chilly, even in the underground caverns where IgnitionClan made their home. Gems glittered on the walls, at the pre-dawn light filtered down into the cavern, where a large white tom lay. He was curled into a next of moss and bracken, his nose covered by his tail. His breathing was shallow, and his dreams were peaceful. The songs of small birds drifted into the cave, waking the large tom from his deep slumber.
He parted his jaws in a great yawn, and then pushed himself to his paws, sitting down to scratch at his left ear. He put his paw back down on the ground, and began to give himself some hard licks, licking moss and dirt from his pure white fur. He let his blue eyes wander over the crystals on the cave walls. This place was so much different than the old territory that he'd once lived on. He'd been part of the Clan once called RiverClan. They had been swimmers...they lived for the fish. He shook the memories from his sleepy eyes and rose to his massive paws.
He began to pad forward, through the long tunnel that lead to the center of his Clans camp. It was a rather large cavern, in the middle of all of the tunnels that made up their home. It had a large skylight that let in not only sunlight, but also moonlight that washed over the large crystals on the wall, sending the room into an array of light. He stepped forward, padding across the stone floor of the cavern, heading towards the fresh-kill pile to take a sniff at it.
It was low, but it was leaf-bare, and his warriors were hunting as hard as they could. He licked his lips, hunger rumbling in his stomach. He would have to start a hunting party soon, but right now, that could wait. He needed to wait until a couple more warriors were awake so they could leave the camp without the fear of a massive attack on their camp.
Blizzardstar settled down on the cool stone, feeling relieved for the chillness on his fur. He rested his head on his paws, looking up at the Gems that littered the walls. They were mesmerizing to him. Such beauty wasn't possible in a world of war and bloodshed. It bewildered him for a moment. They hadn't always been like this. But as a kit he'd heard the elders rambling about old ancestors. He cared not for those myths, seeing as they could never be true. The Clans were ruled by nobody but their selves, and that's how it'd been for many many many moons.
He was suddenly hoping that one of his warriors would waken soon, so maybe he'd have a little bit of company in this dreary morning chill. He lifted his head, his blue eyes now switching to the skylight above him, observing what little outside world he could see from there.

"The sun should come up soon." , murmured Spiceheart quietly behind Blizzardstar's back. Either she or Blizzardstar were always the first cat up in camp. Sometimes they had woken at the same time and perhaps this was one of those times.
Spiceheart always did enjoy arising from her slumber before everyone else. She was one of the few cats in the world that would honestly jump out of her mossy bed, excited to face the day and what challenges and new adventures it would bring. She could remember as a kit waking her mother and siblings up to start playing long before anyone else had woken. She was a pest in some cat's eyes, or perhaps a bit too eager. The point is that Spiceheart is always up for something new, or something old and routine, like watching the sun rise.

Blizzardstar didn't startle, he had been expecting any cat to rise at any moment. He turned his head to look behind him, and gave a gentle purr. He stood up and then stretched every limb in turn, and then ruffled his fur a bit before letting it lay flat. He turned and then sat down, laying his tail calmly over his paws.
He was different from most leaders around this time. He was gentle and wise. He always listened to what his warriors had to say, instead of completely ignoring what they thought to be right. Countless times he'd told them that a warrior in his Clan would not be judged by how many warriors he or she kills. The need for bloodshed was too much, and Blizzardstar really didn't want to think of his warriors as killers. He'd tell them that time and time again as well.
He pushed away his thoughts, looking back at the young she-cat in front of him. "I know. I've been hoping a few cats would be up by now to go on a patrol." his voice was deep and gravely, at times a little mesmerizing to other cats. He tilted his head now, lifting his tail and flicking it, out of habit. His blue eyes observed her quietly. Lately he hadn't even had the time to see how his own warriors were fairing. "You look hungry. Why don't you go eat quickly, and you and I can go hunting before everyone else wakes. We need more fresh-kill for the pile...and seeing as it's leaf-bare, we need all the prey we can find..." he said gently, looking up at the skylight again. Snow was falling through the large hole, into the clearing.

Spiceheart stared at Blizzardstar for another moment before joining him to observe the sky. Small snowflakes sprinkled her nose and eye-lashes. She purred and then said: "Well, no offense, Blizzardstar, but you look rather hungry yourself."
She tilted her head at him, slightly amused by her own cheekiness. Her eyes grew bright and opened wide, her amused expression sliding away as she said: "Besides! I'm always up for an early morning hunt! You should know that! I love to hunt!"
She jumped to her paws, her fur standing slightly on end. Her ears were pricked up and her tail was up straight from exhilaration. "Hey, I know: Let's go hunt right now. Just you and me. And we can bring back some nice, warm pray for the cats who are going to go out on patrol or something!"

He purred with her enthusiasm, flicking his tail with a friendly look on his features. "My Clan comes before myself. I'd rather starve than take prey that my warriors need more than I. I will eat once everyone else has, even if that means waiting." he said with a grave tone to his voice. He glanced over at her, and rose to his massive paws.
He began to lick his white fur clean of the dirt and gravel on it, and then flicked his ears, lifting his fluffy tail. He looked proud, noble, as he rose to his paws. He muscles rippled under his pelt as he ruffled his fur again. He purred again, looking amused by her.
"Alright then, then how about we get out there before we wake the Clan and our plan is ruined?" he asked with a calm expression. "Though, we will need to keep our guard up...never know when the other Clans will attack...Oh how strongly I would like to avoid a battle..." he muttered, and closed his eyes, sighing. "Alright, let's get to that hunting patrol." he mused, and padded forward, waiting for her to follow him.

Spiceheart's eyes lit up with excitement and happiness. She was going hunting! And it was like a secret Hunting Patrol, too! And with Blizzardstar, the leader of IgnitionClan! She purred, expressing her happiness. "Alright! This is going to be fun!"
she shouted. Realizing that she did, she sunk quickly to the ground in shame of possibly ruining their plan. She grinned and said again but in a whispering voice: "I mean -- this is going to be fun."
And she padded after Blizzardstar out of the clearing.
